THINGS YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ME.
THE IMPORTANT STUFF
I’ve been in advertising since 2007.
In all this time, I’ve worked for regional and global campaigns out of Paris (5 years), New Delhi (2 years) and Singapore (10 years), mostly as a Copywriter even though I started as an Art Director.
As an ACD (2016-2022) I developed my skills managing people in a small team, with a formidable partner, a few trusted junior creatives and regular freelancers.
I turned full-time CD in 2022. Since then, I’ve been managing teams of 4 to 10 creatives on regional and global brands.
In all those years, I’ve also won a bunch of awards:
(There’s more, including some Effies and Warc Gold, a lot of PR awards I’m not totally familiar with, so just listing the significant stuff, here)
Beyond all this, the distinction I am the most proud of is being cited by the United Nations Human Rights Office as an example to follow for corporations who want to make the world a better place (it’s page 44, click and check it, take your time).
THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT REALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT ME.
But I still think are kind of interesting.
// I was a musician and composer before going into advertising. I was playing with several bands of very different styles (from Hardcore Punk to Vaguely Folkish Alterna-Rock, passing by pure Electro-pop).
It’s when I started composing for ads in BMX and Skateboard videos that I took interest in communication.
// I am married and I have 2 kids.
//I am an award-winning illustrator (but, like, 2 awards, so not a crazy good one either). My latest project was the Urban Dictionary Illustrated, in which I made literal illustrations of Urban Dictionary expressions. I made them to be sold as NFTs and they did sell pretty well.
I have been a huge fan of illustration and animation since I was a kid. I still scour the internet looking for new stuff I find interesting and people I hope to work with for advertising projects, one day.
// I have synesthesia, the kind that associates colours and sounds. It’s pretty helpful when working on something because it allows to visualise audio in a really vivid way. The downside is that it’s a purely personal perception so no one understands when I want something to sound “more green”.
//I make fruit-flavoured kombucha under the brand “Uncle Joe’s Hippie Brew”.
The first time I tried kombucha, it was in a vegan shop in Paris. It was the real thing, original Mongolian recipe and all. It tasted like a mix of stale grass and fermented vomit, so I hated it instantly and stayed away from it for a long time. I just took it as some weird hippie drink that no one can truly enjoy.
Until my doctor told me I should stay away from any form of soda. I asked if Kombucha was OK, still? She replied “Sure, anything’s better than soda”. With this enthusiastic endorsement I took it upon myself to start making my own but with flavours that my immature palate can accept.
// I took the admission test to Mensa and was accepted as a member but I never went to any meeting because I was afraid I might not be nerdy enough and would get ostracised.
